Our Story
About:
The White Bear Box was created to spotlight the unique makers in our amazing town. The lake area is home to an impressive array of locally made products and they are a reflection of its wonderful character. Experiencing one of our boxes is like strolling through one of our quaint cities that surround White Bear. Whether you’re a long time resident or new to the area, the contents of the boxes will certainly make you feel like a local. Feel proud that with every box purchased you are supporting multiple small businesses.
We are overtly bias to small, artisanal and craft brands (especially those created by our neighbors). These are folks that spend most of their time and energy creating the goods they sell. Therefore, our mission is to find our towns very best items and let them shine in our boxes.

How it began:
It begins with a love for everything White Bear. Businesses within the area are outstanding and so are the people. It was founded by Alan Haskins, resident and owner of a White Bear based full-service marketing agency called Nimble Impressions. The original concept (Uff Da Box) was born during the 2020 Covid pandemic as a way to help promote local businesses. We wanted to use our time, talent, and connections to highlight the rich and diverse businesses located in our community. After an outstanding reception of the Uff Da Box (which still lives on) it only seemed natural to create the refined White Bear Box with the same mission.
With Alan being a resident and local business owner in this area, it was a personal goal to create an enduring one-of-a-kind gift box experience. As a creative agency Nimble is perfectly suited for this type of concept. The White Bear Box makes it possible to expose favorite local items while also supporting the towns small businesses. Since we specialize in design and creating custom goods and packaging for many clients, this was a natural fit. Having spent years working with these hard-working makers, the White Bear Box serves as not only a creative outlet but also a way to support our friends and neighbors.
The box is a magical combination of a good cause, pride in our town, and a fun concept. .

The box concept was born in White Bear Lake Minnesota. As a result, many items are found in close proximity to the hometown. However, we want the box to be appealing to people across Minnesota and the country. Every item in the box can be enjoyed regardless of where you hail from.
A major source of inspiration was to draw attention to local businesses. Big name brands have a time and place, but so do the small businesses. However, those businesses often don’t have the budget or time to gain the attention of the masses. The White Bear Box gives these great local businesses another place to be seen, tried, and liked.
We consider this one of the best Minnesota gift giving experiences. We have award winning products from proud business owners. It has a wonderful place in main holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Beyond that it can always make for a great birthday gift, house warming present, party gift, anniversary gift, and so many more. It can also be used as a business gift. With many businesses seeking unique ways to thank clients at traditional times, nothing says unique like and Uff Da Box. Additionally, it is a great gift option for employers to give employees, and co-workers to give each other. Just think of how great it would be to receive a White Bear Box as a Secret Santa gift.
It’s pretty trendy to be a fan of the Midwest and have a Minnesota identity. Many brands are emerging using words like Sota and doing a great job of promoting our great state. We would like to explore all types of options for the box. They would include clothing, hats, gloves, headwear, apparel, bottle openers, key chains, candles, patches, cookie cutters, holiday ornaments, and many other options.
There is so much potential and fun to have with the concept. You betcha we’ll continue to focus on reflecting the pride of our great state and this region of the country.
